Making tomorrow a better day

Welcome

Welcome to St Anne's R.C. Primary School, Blackburn

We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regularly updated information for parents and pupils.

At St Anne's, we are committed to providing equal opportunities for all our children and continually developing an inclusive school environment that respects the unique qualities each child brings. We strive to ensure that every member of our school community feels valued and is supported to develop academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually to the very best of their ability. We are all on a journey together.

As a Catholic community, we value every single member as a unique creation made in the image of God. We work together to help everyone realise their God-given talents and their special part in God's plan. Our school is a place of peace, tolerance, and fairness, where we follow Christ’s example of loving God and loving others. Our ultimate aim is to give our community the prospects, belief, and hope that every tomorrow can be a better day.

This Week's Wednesday Word: COURAGE This week's Gospel reminds us of Jesus' reassuring words to his disciples: "Do not be afraid." (Matthew 10:26–33) As Jesus prepared to send his disciples out to share the Good News, he knew they would face challenges, opposition, and difficult situations. He encouraged them to be brave, trust in God, and have the courage to stand up for what is right and true. Jesus reminds us that we are precious to God and that we never face our fears alone. What does "courage" mean? Courage means being brave even when something feels difficult or scary. It doesn't mean we aren't afraidit means choosing to do the right thing despite our fears. Courage helps us tell the truth, stand up for others, try new things, and trust God when life feels uncertain. Ideas for Families at Home: Ask your child: What does the word "courage" mean to you? Talk about a time when you needed courage to do something difficult. Discuss situations where children might need courage, such as: trying something new telling the truth admitting a mistake standing up for a friend resisting peer pressure speaking up for what is right Think of someone you know who shows courage. What can you learn from them? Choose one thing this week that feels challenging and ask Jesus to help you face it with courage. Family Prayer Dear Lord Jesus, please give us the courage always to do and say what is right. Help us to remember that we can always put our faith and trust in you. Amen. Let's help our children understand that true courage comes from trusting God. When we stay close to Jesus, he gives us the strength to face our fears, make good choices, and stand up for what is right. #TheWednesdayWord #Courage #FamilyFaith #CatholicFamilies #FaithAtHome #BeNotAfraid #GrowingInFaith #GoodNewsForFamilies
